bullet  IAMSE / HEAL Partnership
The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) and the HEAL organizations are partnering to build the IAMSE / HEAL Collaboratory. IAMSE is a nonprofit professional development society organized and directed by medical faculty members; it provides opportunities to enhance excellence and innovations in teaching, student and program assessment, computer technology and many other areas.

Layered onto the existing HEAL infrastructure, the Collaboratory will allow IAMSE members to contribute, download, discuss and review medical education resources to improve and innovate their teaching. The Collaboratory will be released to IAMSE members at IAMSE’s annual meeting, to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 26-29th, 2008. (more details)

Head and Neck Radiology from the West Virginia University School of Medicine
Frank Reilly, Mahesh Kamsala, Allison Davis, Jeffrey Altemus and Saritha Reddy

A recent addition to the HEAL Reviewed Collection, this tutorial consists of a series of digitized radiographs in Macromedia Flash designed to stimulate active self-directed learning. The resource integrates radiology in a structured format of five radiology tutorial units that target content areas dealing with standard and cross-sectional anatomy, arterial angiography and pneumo-encephalography. This information is critical to the interpretation of standard X-rays and CT- and MRI-scans.

This project has been made possible by grants from the National Science Foundation, DUE-0085660 and DUE-0226314, and from the National Library of Medicine, 1 G08 LM007877-01 and 1 G08 LM008054-01.
